I am a registered nurse. I spent the contagion years working days in intensive care and nights in hospice, the places where the crisis was most personal and least visible. Alex Augustus is what I made of those shifts: grunge and soul, written, produced, and mixed alone, released on my own imprint, Night Watch Press. The single above is that world set to music, one twelve-hour shift in three minutes and forty-one seconds, opening in a trance and ending in jubilant soul. Every release pairs the songs with commissioned artwork, credited in full; putting other artists’ names beside mine is one of this project’s founding ideas.
You will not find my face here. The nurse in royal blue carries the name, and mine is kept for the stage.
Leave an address and I will write when there is new music.
